((michael stevens)) >> brian, kirsten... the story has made national headlines. a murder suspect... sitting inside an interrogation... in handcuffs... breaks free... takes off and is nowhere to be found? as of this morning 25-year-old alonso perez remains on the loose. north las vegas police say the 25-year-old was in an room shortly after his arrest on friday. they say he turned the handcuffs until he broke free while a detective was out of the room. he then allegedly stole a truck and took-off. on saturday, police found the stolen pick-up... but not perez. perez is suspected in the deadly shooting of 31-year-old mohammad robinson. the young father was shot and killed august 27th near a

police say he has an air jordan logo tattoo on the side of his neck. police say he is considered armed and dangerous. if you spot perez, you're asked to call 9-1-1 right away... or if you have any information on his whereabouts call crimestoppers. brian, kirsten? ((nia wong)) >> good morning brian and kirsten. it's here at this home behind me where police discoveored two people dead. and they're still trying to figure out what exactly happened. we're told that both the victim and the suspect appear to be in their late thirties or early forties and investigators do believe that this is domestic related. police add that they don't have any reason to believe anyone else was at home ((michelle french, henderson police department: "this is a very difficult situation that occured, and it is a tragic situation. at this point, we're going to be doing our invsestigation to see what exactly happened and we're going to be looking at all avenues that may have happened with this case.")) protesters blocked the runway at london city airport .. disrupting incoming and outgoing flights. the group, black lives matter, claimed responsibility on social media ... saying they're protesting the climate crisis and its impact on black people. the airport says the protesters runway back open./// ((brian loftus)) and british airways is dealing with a major computer glitch. no word on how many flights are affected, but there have been problems in airports in both europe and the u-s. they were having issues with checking people in .. which caused long lines. british airways says the problem has been resolved, and there were no cancellations./// ((kirsten joyce)) things are about to get a little wild in studio this morning! out to me concerned with the new roundabout at sahara and hollywood near las vegas high school. there have been accidents and some damage done to the decorative rock too. the county says thy are going to repair the damage and relocate a sign that is obstructed in the area. the county says they have been monitoring traffic flow through this roundabout and have request increased enforcement from metro. collecting feedback, and advises that you send an email or contact county commissioner chris giunchigliani. this intersection has been plagued by speeding and car races. based on input from the community and town board, a roundabout was chosen as the solution. metro feels it will help with the illegal drag racing and speeding. according to the american association of state highway and transportation officials, roundabouts reduce the types of crashes were people are

the search for a murder suspect who escaped from custody. kirsten joyce >> 25-year-old alonso perez, was last seen in an interview room inside the north las vegas police department on friday. 8 news now r the latest. good morning michael? ((michael stevens)) >> brian, kirsten... a lot of people have been wondering... how does a murder suspect get away from police while being questioned wearing handcuffs? north las vegas police say the 25-year-old was in an interview room shortly after his arrest on friday.

until he broke free while a detective was out of the room. he then allegedly stole a truck and took-off. on saturday, police found the stolen pick-up... but not perez. the 25-year-old is suspected in shooting 31-year-old mohammed robinson late last month. as bizarre as this story might sound... it's not the first time something like this has happened in recent months. back in april, a 39-year-old man escaped from metro's custody after l interrogating him left the room and locked it... but apparently the lock was broken, allowing him to slip out: ((tommy burns/security & law enforcement consultant: "people slip cuffs in the movies and in books, but rarely does it ever happen in real life.")) ((tommy burns/security & law enforcement consultant: "essentially, i don't think you look so much at somebody's able to slip the cuffs, more so you'll be looking at why nobody was watching a person in custody.")) ((michael stevens)) >> the 39-year-old was arrested a short time later.. after a standoff in the northwest part of the valley.

here's what things look like on the way to the airport. traffic on 215 is starting to slow down aroudn warp the northwest beltway due to a construction project the county has been working on. town center is under construction from summerlin parkway to charleston through november.
